The Kaw Valley Rodeo Association is marking its 38th year in conjunction with the Riley County Fair. The rodeo includes three nightly performances as well as many accompanying events.

• 6th Annual Military Family Appreciation Night
Thursday night – KIDS NIGHT and MILITARY APPERCIATION NIGHT. (Kids (12 and under) will get in FREE with a nonperishable food donation to benefit the Flint Hills Breadbasket. It’s also the 6th annual MILITARY FAMILY APPRECIATION NIGHT at the Riley County Fair and the rodeo. A partnership with the Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce Military Relations Committee in Manhattan, commercial sponsors, Riley Country Fair and Kaw Valley Rodeo provides a free pre-picnic and tickets to the rodeo. The pre-rodeo picnic is free to all military families while supplies last. Food will be provided by McAllister’s Deli and beverages by Pepsi of Manhattan. The Commanding General’s Mounted Color Guard will present our nation’s colors and the First Infantry Division Country Band will offer sweet melodies to enjoy during the barbecue. Military families are also encouraged to bring non-perishable or canned food donations to support the Flint Hills Breadbasket and show their support for such a worthwhile organization.
